Counselling Services
About Me
I am a fully qualified Counsellor and Registered Member of the BACP on their Accredited Register. I have been practising for 15 years and have accrued in excess of 4000 client hours to date.
I comply fully with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and hold a current ICO (Information Commisioner’s Office) Certificate. I also hold a current Enhanced DBS ( Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate which enables me to work with Vulnerable Adults and Young People.
I undertake ongoing CPD (Continuing Professional Development) which helps me to improve my knowledge and to maintain the latest theory and practices.
I am fully insured and receive regular ongoing supervision.
Background and Experience
Prior to counselling I spent many years working as a volunteer providing emotional support for parents in the community.
My background includes Counselling for Women’s Aid, CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service), Action For Children and Flying Start.
At Flying Start, over 7 years, I worked as a sole independent practitioner responsible for the establishment and operation of a counselling service to support disadvantaged families. This service provides early intervention and support aiming to tackle deprivation and reduce the need for more specialist intervention from Adult Mental Health Services.
Current
I currently work as an Independent Counsellor contracted to North Wales Police providing therapy for staff at all levels. I also run a private practice both in person and online via Teams, phone/WhatsApp video call, based in Warrington, Cheshire.
